Yes, altitude sickness is one of the major concerns during the expedition because the trek reaches above 6,000 meters. Proper acclimatization in places like Namche Bazaar and Dingboche is essential.
During the trekking section, accommodation is mainly in teahouses and lodges offering basic but comfortable rooms and meals. At Island Peak Base Camp, climbers generally stay in tented camps.
